NB Youth to be Recognized for Outstanding Achievement

Fredericton, NB – October 28 – Over 20 outstanding youth from around the province will be recognized at Scouts Canada’s annual New Brunswick Awards ceremony this Saturday, November 2 at the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly Building. The Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick, His Honour The Honourable Graydon Nicholas, will present youth with the highest awards attainable in Scouting, the Chief Scout Award and the Queen’s Venturer Award.

The Honourable Trevor Holder, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage and a 1987 recipient of the Chief Scout Award, will be a speaker, as will the Chief Commissioner of Scouts Canada, Andrew Price.

Members of the media are invited to arrive at the Legislative Assembly building between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. The ceremony will run from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, followed by an opportunity for photos and interviews. Official photos will be available after the ceremony upon request.
