Scouts Canada Youth to Make Their Mark on Moncton

Moncton – January 7 – Scouts from across the Maritimes will gather in Moncton next weekend to help plan the future of Scouting and make an impact on the local community. RoVenture 2013 will bring together over 60 Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts aged 14-26 at the Rotary Lodge from January 11-13.  The event aims to empower young people to get involved, and will include a food drive to help the less fortunate.

The event will also include outdoor adventure and social activities that are sure to bring together the youth representing all three Maritime provinces, including youth from the Quebec-based Association des Scouts du Canada.

Scouts will be going door-to-door in the Centennial Place subdivision between 1 and 3 pm on Saturday to collect food for the House of Nazareth shelter. Residents are encouraged to leave out non-perishable food items for collection.
